The Bigger Picture

Ellis White from Chapel Hill Church in Gig Harbor, Washington, shares today’s Sunday Extra.  Ellis serves on a church staff which partnered with Kevin Ford in years past in visioning and coaching.  He shares an Advent story about the life of Zechariah from Luke 1. As we live our lives, one challenge for any disciple of Jesus Christ is to learn to focus on the bigger picture. In today’s passage, Zechariah was learning to see his life in view of God’s redemptive history.

The Lord’s Favor

Today, join us in praying for Anne Huffman as she has recently retired from LFM’s Board.  Pray with us for God to fill Anne with wisdom and grace, give her good health in mind and body, and empower her to continue fulfilling the Lord’s purpose for her in this generation. “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands” (Psalm 90:17 NIV).

Dr. Anne M. Huffman is a practicing Psychoanalyst, Marriage and Family Therapist, Trustee of Fuller Theological Seminary, and active volunteer at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, California, where her husband served as pastor for more than thirty years.  Anne experienced deep pain over the death of their oldest daughter, which, coupled with the emotional and spiritual understandings of the grief process, has become a vital dimension of her volunteer speaking and professional work.  She has also served as editorial advisor for Partnership Magazine and as Chaplain at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach.
