The Long Road

Welcome to Sunday Extra.  We are glad you’ve joined us today for this ministry of the Word.  John Yates III of Holy Trinity Church in Raleigh, NC, shares today’s message. Speaking on “The Long Road to Bethlehem,” he discusses the pilgrimage of the Wise Men in Matthew 2:1-12. Many people place the Magi in their manger scenes, but the Scriptures show they actually saw the Christ child later. This message begins a series from Matthew’s gospel about some of the surprising people who encountered Jesus. Holy Trinity is one of LFM's “thriving ministry partners”. John Yates III was mentored by Leighton’s long-time colleague, John Stott.

Praying for South Florida Families

Let’s pray for Holy Trinity Church as they launch a six-week Christianity Explored course seeking to introduce non-believers to the gospel.

Pray also for Kevin Ford as he continues to journey with the leadership of 4Kids of South Florida.  We have been partnering with their amazing Board of Directors and Management in a development process. More importantly, pray for this incredible ministry as they bring hope, homes, and healing to kids and families in crisis across South Florida, the Treasure Coast, and Southwest Florida. In partnership with local churches, businesses, and government agencies, 4KIDS is committed to redefining foster care in their community, one child at a time.  This past year, they served nearly 3,000 families in South Florida.  Part of their 2022 work included connecting 385 children with 4Kids foster families.  LFM continues to partner with ministries such as 4Kids to help healthy leaders sustain this kind of Kingdom impact for the long haul.  For more information, visit https://www.4kids.us
