Sunday Extra: The Light of God

In this dark world, Leighton Ford encourages us to be the light that Christ has put within us.

“Lord, deliver me from the news cycle.”

So much time and attention is focused these days on what’s wrong … what’s bad … what mistakes someone has made.  In such a dark world, how are we to “be the light?”

This past week, Leighton Ford was guest speaker for the Belhaven University chapel service.  Belhaven’s 2020-2021 Verse of the Year is from Psalm 112:4 … “Light dawns in the darkness for the godly.  They are generous, compassionate, and righteous” … so he focused on “The Light of the Lord, be the light and reflect the Light.”

Anytime Leighton Ford shares from the Word … whether he’s preaching, sharing a devotional, or encouraging through conversation … I want to listen!  So I am excited this week’s Sunday Extra features Leighton’s message on “being the light and reflecting this light” from Belhaven University.

Leighton concluded his message with this prayer for you and me:

“To be the light that Christ has put within you, and to reflect the Light you find in Jesus Christ to others.”

Amen!
